NTLDR is missing? need help please by

Computer was working fine one day, next day it says NTLDR
is missing, press any key to continue startup. Then says
insert bootdisk along with the 'a' prompt. Tried the
bootdisk and get invalid stuff. No commands will work. If
I put the cd in it goes to the setup which will work, then
restarts...

Looking for Hurricane98 updates by

Anybody remember Helix Software's Hurricane 98 ? I'm still using it on my
Win 98 SE based Gateway Solo notebook. I recently did a clean OS install
and then found that the disk on which I had copies of the updates for
Hurricane was corrupted. I am looking for someone who might have these...

Drive Space by

Can anyone advise the best method for clearing space in
Drive E(System Save)? I only have 224MB left and I think
it may be causing some problems. I tried to compress it
but am being alerted 'Drive E cannot be compressed because
it is a FAT32 drive.

Shell32.dll by

I've gotten an error msg about an installation not being able to link to
Shell32.dll. But I have that file in the Win/System directory. Is it a
problem with a version? How do I update/upgrade/replace the one there with
the best copy available? I have access only to dialup... Thanks!

Weird Startup by

As I booted up my system and looked at the post readings, it had stopped and
their was a message about overclocking. Now, I never overclocked in my life.
It said press F1 for the bios and press F2 to change to default. I didn't know
what to do. I just shut off my system and rebooted, hopeing it...

I had a WRock.dll error, couldn't find a fix. So I used
the restore CD. Now I get a message about device IOS
windows protection error restart PC. It only starts in
safe mode and I can't use CD drives. Tried startup dics no
help there.

'Quad-speed or higher' under the 'File System Properties'
- CD-ROM tab, it asked for reboot. I clicked on yes but
when i checked the same it reverted to the 'no read ahead'

My Win 98 SE machine will randomly reboot every so often. There is no
particular thing I am doing when it happens. It can happen soon after start
up, while i am working on something or after a few hours of sitting around.

Hi, win 95 used to recognize this muti-madia CD with is an audio CD but also
has video files. All win 98 will recognize is that it is an audio CD and I
cant't get to the main menu with the videos.

Win98SE + Added RAM = Problems by

I have an older pc running Win98SE. I installed a memory
upgrade - 512 MB - in addition to the original 128 MB.
The system recognizes the added memory on POST, but with
the new module in place Windows will not open, if Safe
Mode does open - usually reboots to the startup menu -
