Limited network services in Win 98 by

Connected to Windows Server 2003. I'm able to see the server through network
neighborhood, and I'm able to ping it from the command prompt. I can't,
however, use the same server with exchange server or internet explorer (proxy

my dad asked me today if it is true that you have to pay Microsoft each year
for the license and Windows update, since that is what they were told by
their Head Quarters... and they were charged 100 Euro yearly for the PC they
use.
I never have heard of this, but maybe the rules are...

Hi Folks,
I want to launch a bat file on a network computer, so that it executes on
that computer and not on the computer I am using, I know I can use a VNC
software but I want to avoid that if possible as the only thing I want to do
is to shut down the other pc.

Is there a way to tell if the dongle and/or nic on a laptop is okay? I have
a P2P network and lost connectivity to my laptop when I moved it from my lap
onto my desk. Troubleshooting points to it being a problem with the

Using Client for Microsoft networks, Netbui and TC/IP.
Both machines have the same workgroup name and file sharing enabled.
Ipconfig gives field info for Lana 1, but nothing for Lana 0.
