Win 98 will not boot by
Haroldk
I installed a LINKSYS 10/100 lan card in my windows 98
system and now it will not even boot up.
The system is a 533mhz Celeron.
Removing the card and everything is fine. The card works
OK in another system running XP.
Is there a BIOS set-up problem with the Win 98 system?

Dan wells
After installing a software update I am no longer able to
connect to the internet. The modem is fine. Microsoft
says I need to reinstall my network card drivers. How do I
do this? I have a NEC Ready 9732 (please don't laugh) that
was originally packaged with Windows 95. Thanks for any
help.

I know that it is possible for a windows 98 computer to

control a Windows XP computer. But is it possible to have
a Windows XP computer control a Windows 98 computer in the
same way? I know that you can use apps like VNC to do
this, but I...

A local peer-to-peer TCP/IP network including three W98SE

couple of years. Each of the network components was
originally configured in the usual way through Control

This week, Control Panel, Network was...

User profiles by
Justin
Hi,
I'd like to get rid of the User logon popup (not the
Windows logon one which I don't get as I never set a
password for this).
However if I just delete the only User I would be in
trouble because almost all software and hardware on my PC
has been installed under User "Justin". If I escape...

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a source for getting the Networking

moment neither computer can see a network. Network
properties are...
