Public IP address determination by

My mom's Win98 SE computer is connected directly (no router, hub, or switch)
to her broadband cable modem. Her ISP is suddenlink.com . Their website
claims they provide dynamic IP addresses rather than static ones, which I
believe is somewhat uncommon for cable ISP's .

Unable to add file and printer sharing by

I recently purchased a used Thinkpad 560/ w W98SE off eBay, its the PC I'm
typing this on. The prior org (or their corp it ) locked the computer down
such
that I cannot enable file & printer sharing or use Windows Update. I can
connect
to the internet, but can't attach to local printers and share...

received error message saying I didn't have authority on this computer! Ideas

Connect 98 Wirelessly With Router On XP by

I am getting conflicting reports as to whether or not I can use a Belkin
FSD7000 Network Card (or any other), in my 98 computer to link wirelessly to
the router attached, with an ethernet cable, to my XP computer. Can anyone
clarify for certain please?,

and connected to the network.
When these users shut down their machines they get the message:
"There are 20 users connected. Shutting down will disconnect them.....".
I would like to disable such pop ups so that users do...

Its been ok for months but lately during the day it still sees the router
but it drops the connection, it cant connect to collect the email or the

When I go to add Client for Microsoft Networking and TCP/IP Protocol in
Network Configuration , nothing shows.
Click add, click Client and nothing.
Click add, click Protocol and only IEEE 802.1X Protocol shows.
