Verizon DSL modem when the following occurred.
1. Installed new Linksys Ethernet Card with the help of their tech support
staff.
2. Upon accessing the Verizon "Account Setup" software (after successful
download of same),...

New k/board has an USB plug by
Jason James
I've had my win98se PC since 1999. Its running 85% free resources atm. I've
finally had to buy another k/board which has a USB plug only.
There is a USB port on the rear of the PC and mention of a heap of USB files
after doing a "search for files".
My question is: can I simply remove the existing...

Win98 to win98se? by
The poster formerly known as 'The Poster Formerly Known as Nina DiBoy'
I have an old laptop I put win98 on, but I am hoping to upgrade it to
win98se to have USB support. But I only have the win98 install cd. Is
such a thing possible? Would this happen through windows update? Thanks.

Process Explorer for Win98? by
Robert A. Macy
Based upon a recommendation, I downloaded procesp.exe and tried
running it.
I don't think it works on Win98. There was no comment I could find
about resource requirements or OS restrictions.
I downloaded it to find out what's causing the hang in Opera 9.65
whenever I go to a .pdf website

properly on my XP machine, a completely different PC). I have...

Damage using a serial cable to connect 2 PC's? by
thanatoid
Hello again,
I have a basic question: is there any way I can damage either
the serial port circuitry OR the MB itself by incorrectly (wrong
pinouts, bad cable, link program doing something to the machine,
etc.) when trying if a DB-9 serial cable with a null modem
adapter will work?
I am...

Thanks for Google Earth for 98! by
someone watching
A while back there was a thread on Google Earth, at least I *think* it

Well, in anticipation of using it SOMETIME it was downloaded. Finally
got to install it and wow, it is nice to have this program for W98! Wish
I could...

they first came out with IE6, I installed it and my system got really
unstable. I finally formatted and reinstalled Win98se. Ever since I
have never upgraded IE beyond 5.5. I have had many people tell me
that IE6 has now been...

Win98se by
J T Owens
My kids were playing with my older laptop and tried to use the install disk.
Unfortunatly they did not complete the set-up process and I don't have an ID
Key. Microsoft support would not help me since the version is unsupported.
Any way to get a key for this thing?
