Hi,
I just installed some software that came with my new
digital camera. I am now getting the error message about
the msiexec.exe file being linked to a missing export

colors and icon desktop problems by
Troy
Hello.
On more and more occurences, I'm noticing that my icons on
my desktop don't refresh after dragging a window over
them. The only thing that's visable is the shape of the
icon, but, no icon. As well, usually, when this happens,
most all icons on the Quick Launch bar either change
colors or...

there is only one window displaying directories.
Normally, you hit the Folders button at the top, and the

popup blocker vs HOSTfile by
Speedy G.
Need some advise.
I've been using Adshield for blocking popups, and it does a pretty decent job.
I've been wondering if I should delete Adshield and rely on the Host file
for blocking the pop ups. I realize that I would have to edit the HOST file
for the pop up ads and pages that I want to prevent...

Someone wanted to change the desktop wallpaper. What I need to know is why
during a re-start, the old wallpaper appears just before the desktop loads
and then the new wallpaper comes up after all the icons appear. I've also
lost the ability to uncheck the checkbox on the web tab on the...

Frozen Screen Saver by
Webster72n
This is more of an annoyance than anything else:
After screen saver's timeout, it sometimes freezes with some additional,
strange but familiar looking bits of graphics in it.
What might be the cause and how can I fix it?
Harry, old and would like to know.

"Open With" on right click - "programs don't stick" by
Joe 1956
You know how you "train" ME to remember programs opening with certain file
types, such as .wav files with Media Player or Goldwave or Nero wave editor,
etc?
For some reason, ME stopped remembering. There's no sub-menu anymore with
the list of previous programs.
Any ideas on a fix?

No support no more? by

Hey,
I see in the paper this morning that MS is dropping support for
98,and ME. I guess we can forget about the old 3.1 or DOS.That is
soooo 20th century.
Does this mean we can't get drivers and such anymore? I want to
make my system last a little longer. Does what I want and no need
to go the XP...
