Alan,
I went to the Lavasoft site with my Greek language problem. They had me

waol has caused an error.... by
Last night, for no apparent reason, I began getting the
error message "waol has caused an error in kernel32.dll.
waol will now close".
It doesn't match any of the referenced errors on this site
(they all say something about a page fault...? maybe it's
the same?).
In any case, I emptied out all...

Icons by
Kathy
A couple of days ago my computer froze while on the
internet. When I restarted it there were new icons on the
desktop that I did not add or install. They seem to be
linked to Internet Explorer. I cannot move them or delete
them. They disappear when I close the open program
lexplore, but...

Error Message at Start Up by
Fred S *****
Hi,
I'm helping a friend who is using a WinME computer running with 319 MB
of RAM.
She is getting an explorer error at start up. Google does not show
anything of value, nor does the Microsoft web site.
The error message is as follows;

My daughter's computer has massive virus/spyware
contamination that can't be removed by usual means.
I have all WinME and hardware driver and program disks.

Missing Speaker Icon by
Olen R. Pearson
Hi,
A while back, I inquired of this group about a problem with the little
speaker icon on the task tray continually disappearing. Even with the many
suggestions, no solution was found.
Now, I've finally realized that the icon goes away after running IE 5.5. If
I restore it, it's okay until I...

Unexplained Disk Activity by

Restore points are RG*.CAB files. The presence of BKVXDLASTLOG.nn files
usually indicates that the state manager is possibly in the course of
analysing the various files in the _RESTORE\TEMP folder prior to either
"cabbing" them (FS*.CAB files in Archive) or discarding them. I suspect that
what...

ME and my flash drive by
Sleepless in New Jersey
Windows ME has given me a lot of problems, but the latest really has me
scratching my head.
We recently got two new (actually used and old) PC's running Windows 98 SE.
I upgraded them to ME using the same installation CD. I expected them to
have identical OSes. That gave us one (really) new PC...

System clock fix by

For the past month or so my system clock has been losing from 10 to 30
minutes per day. I replaced the CMOS battery but that did not fix the
problem. I downloaded the new MS critical fixes yesterday and now my clock
is once again accurate. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Also, my USB mouse...
