XPPRO. Microsoft has forced our hands and created this annoying but now

Windows 98 get's stuck with start-up by

When I start my computer It will start windows but get's stuck on the screen
where I have to fill in my password.
I can't get it to work. I have started the computer in safe mode and run
msconfig and tried various combinations on the general page but nothing works.
