LAPTOP WILL NOT BOOT UP. OS WIN 98SE by

I have a Compaq Laptop. OS win 98se. Pent.III. 12gig HD
I cannot get it to boot up. This problem came out of
nowhere. One day it worked fine - next day can't boot up.
I get the green lights to blink once then they go out -
black screen, with error code 162, CMOS - System not
setup.

Hi,
I have a Copaq Presario(1240) laptop wich is unusually
slow the last 6 months or so. It has always just been used
for admin andsome mail and internet stuff. It has been
fine, but now it's just so slow and I get these blue
screens that says there something wrong, but hey?????
It has a 3.81G...

How to get my machine to remember which user was last logged-on and to load
up that same profile on the next start-up?

Latency in IE 5.0? by

Using Win 98 SE
Using IE 5.0 90 % of the time, i have noticed a change in the manner in
which it calls websites.
Originally (heard that one, eh?) it would immediately (or observedbly so) go
to another 'Opening page ....' when a link was clicked on.
Now, there is a latency period of a few to up...

load windows I get an error after signing in saying that
Explorer has performed an illegal operation and will have
to be shut down. Of course then the computer will not load
windows at all. Any suggestions?

restarts on it's own. I then get a message on a startup options screen that
says that windows failed to load on the previous attempt so restart it
safemode to diagnose the problem. So I'm in safemode but don't know what...

I have Panda Internet Security,Spybot and Adaware6
installed,I am on BT Broadband (1MHZ) and use the BT/Yahoo

Admin. mode. I make changes, reboot, and it's back the way it was.
