Rhyme but no Reason to System Restore points deletion by

'opefully there is still time for me to learn to control our WinMe
computer. I've noticed since I got to messing around with it, that
System Restore points dissappearing for no reason I was aware of. I
don't run some of the Disk Cleaning Utilities nearly as much as I used
to. I used to Defragment...

Backing it all up by

Having three C drive failures in just two and a half years requiring me to
reinstall and re-set up every program I use (which I'm doing now) makes me
wonder if it's possible to copy/backup my entire new C drive to a
comparable slave for switching out when this new primary master also goes
belly-up...

hello group.
my computer had problems, as such i needed to reinstall many apps.
i used to have(have) SE Personal, Build 1.06r1, (of which the .exe is
only 2.72mg) but the one i downloaded just now is over 17mg.
here is the site i got the new one from(although its just sitting in a
folder

Win Me - Blue Screen and Scandisk problems by

I am getting a lot of blue screens on shutdown saying something about a
Windows Exception or something and that I need to restart my computer. This
happens about 50% of the time and is annoying.
When I restart, Scandisk runs and keeps cycling , never getting to log-on
screen - sometimes get 4 or 5...

SR Points Wiped Out....... by

Odd.....I have had to do a lot of uninstalling and reinstalling on this
computer and I know I had 2-3 weeks of checkpoints.......not any more.
My earliest one (Saturday) is when I removed the software for the new
printer that crashed me big time. So I now have just 2 days of points.

After the fiasco with XP, Noel asked if the SMART feature was still turned
on in the BIOS........I ran the Belarc Advisor and it said it was......
However.....today I *paused* the screen at bootup and it said it was capable
of this, but NOT enabled. I don't know if it ever was, to be honest.

memory loss by

My pc memory is drained to a point where my desk top
doesn't even work. This is any time my pc is left on in
normal mode. Not necessaryly online. Have to reboot to
