1)in the tip on taking away the text from desktop shortcuts, you say to type
in 0160 then hit enter, and then to do it again using alt key 0160...

I can't get win98 to start even in safe mode because it
says "Invalid page fault at explorer.exe ..."
At the C:\windows directory I see an explorer.exe file
with 180,224 bytes. When I try to edit the file or rename
it the computer says "File not found". I can find every

Hi, I was wondering how you get Win98 SE to roll back to
the last known safe configuration. There is some valuable
data that I need to retrieve, but it is in a profile
folder. Windows has been reinstalled and all profiles

I installed a slaved 80gig HD because the primary HD had
gotten to small. Win 98 recognizes C drive and the new D
drive but but does not recognize the now e and f cdrom and
cd/rw. The two cds are connected directly to the
motherboard (Gateway).

Hi,
"*.RBO" is known as a worm extension. When I type in "*.RBO" to find files
with this extension I get no files found eventhough there are many files
with that extension.

Windows is not recognizing my crdw by

I had a working cdrw in one machine and installed it in
another. Windows does not recognize the burner as a
burner but as a cdrom. I have a 2nd cdrom and it works
fine. Now my cdrw is not listed under my computer at
all. What can I do to resolve my problem?

I have recently reformatted wndws2000 back to wndws98. I
have on floppy disk copies of jpegs/gifs from another
wndws98. They loaded fine when pc I have now was a
wndws2000. But now, I get (A)inaccessible. I go to
Properties, it says (A) Drive is full. I know thats
rubbish 'cause it worked before...

In win98se "my computer" lists drives c: and d:. They
have the same names. The d: drive seems to be a copy or
mirror of c:. There is no second hard drive in the
computer.
In "safe mode" only the C; drive is displayed. This
computer also freezes shortly after starting windows in
normal mode.
