I have noticed that recently there is a file in c:\windows\recent called desktop.ini that was not there in the past. I run deltree with minimal boot and it is deleted but recreated along with the recent folder at startup. Is this supposed to be there and I just didn't see it until now?

ME Hangs (Windows Explorer) by The Howler
I maintain a set of ME computers at a school and lately 6 of them started hanging. The symptom is the same on all of them: if you try to launch Windows Explorer or the Control Panel, the system hangs. You can Ctrl-Delete and kill the explorer process to do a bit more work, but it will hang again...

Disabling Restore altogether by Jonny
System restore is disabled here. After this, I went to every drive and FAT/FAT32 partition in my system in Win98SE and deleted the "_Restore" folder. Rebooted to ME, and tried to delete the same, won't let me. And, I find the the same folder has been rewritten to all the partitions...
